Just a small detail.

The finest art nouveau seaweed I’ve seen on my travel.

The fountain is a spectacular piece of work and a very large one, which is why I none of my photographs of it are entirely satisfactory, but this is my favourite. To describe the scene; the fountain sits on the forecourt of the Victoria Rooms, an impressive Victorian, neo-classical, building that now houses the Music Department of the University of Bristol. The fountain shares the forecourt with a statue of King Edward VII, that looks a bit bemused by the whole scene unfolding in the fountain below him; a scene that involves a very muscular merman, a similarly athletic looking mermaid, a very aggressive looking fish and a greedy sea lion congregating beneath a giant clam.
