A familiar sight.
I don’t know if every university in the land has desks like these with numbers on, because I haven’t visited that many universities, truth be told, but seeing these reminded me of my days at the University of Hull. Nervously waiting to get into the room where the examination is taking place, looking up your table number on a long list of students, sitting down and looking around to see where your friends were sitting [jumpers for goalposts] were regular experiences for me at the end of each academic year, but I had never assumed that these experiences might strike a cord with students from anywhere else in the United Kingdom, let alone Glasgow!
I do prefer these desks to those chairs that come with the desk attached. I like to spread out a bit and put both my elbows on the desk when I’m sitting an exam!
